Poachers unavailable in hunt flora and fauna this time encompassing, as wandering birds have flock to marshlands and water-bodies with wintry weather shoplifting above the country. Although the wildlife preservation act prohibits hunting migratory birds and wild animals, the law is not being implemented. Open sales of wild and migratory birds by traders all over the city have become all too flagrant. Officials blamed the laxity of the anti-hunting drive on lack of manpower in the wildlife conservatory section of the reforest subdivision. One of them cited lack of knowledge as an additional cause for the rise in flora and fauna captures. The law imposes punishment of a six-month imprisonment, which can be extended to a year or a fine of up to Tk 1,000 or both, along with confiscation of firearms, vehicles, vessels, watercrafts, appliances or any other apparatus worn in hunting.
