Darters are often referred to as "snake-birds" since
of their long thin décolletage, which gives a snake-like form when they swim
with their bodies waterlogged. The males have black and dark brunette plumage,
an erectile summit on the nape and a superior bill than the womanly. The
females have a much paler plumage in particular on the neck and underparts. The
darters have finally webbed feet, and their legs are short and set far back on
the body. Their plumage is somewhat permeable, like that of cormorants, and
they spread their wings to dry subsequent to diving. There are 4 variety wide-reaching
and 1 kind which occurs in Bangladesh.
